Avi is a valued member of Maurice Law’s Research Department, having joined the firm in 2011. As a researcher, Avi plays a key role in the management of numerous specific claims and litigation files. She conducts in-depth archival research in Indigenous history, utilizing a broad range of resources, including museum archives, provincial archives, university libraries, and Library and Archives Canada. Avi is responsible for the organization of critical historical records that support the numerous specific claims and litigation files.

Before joining Maurice Law, Avi worked with the Litigation Management and Resolution Branch of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. During this time, she gained valuable experience in researching historical and contemporary Indigenous legal issues, as well as a strong foundation in document management practices essential to litigation.

Avi is of Cree-Métis descent from the Kikino Métis Settlement in Alberta.
