11th Annual Maurice Law Charity Golf Tournament

September 22, 2017

Our 11th Annual Maurice Law Charity Golf Tournament was held at the Wintergreen Golf & Country Club in beautiful Bragg Creek, Alberta. Each year, proceeds from the Maurice Law Charity Golf Tournament have been used to support agencies and programs that have shown a special commitment and interest in supporting Aboriginal peoples. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be donated to an outstanding and worthy organization, the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary (AFCC).

The AFCC is a non profit organization with a mandate to provide social, cultural, education and employment services to the Aboriginal peoples within the Calgary Metropolitan area. The AFCC plays a regular and significant role in the daily lives of its members in many ways: providing care for children, the elderly, those in need and the homeless; enabling access to cultural and spiritual care; offering referrals for suitable housing, food, clothing, pursuit of education, skill development and training; and building a resourceful Aboriginal community.

The proceeds from this year’s charity golf tournament will be donated to support the AFCC’s annual Aboriginal Christmas Gathering. The annual Aboriginal Christmas Gathering is a holiday get-together that includes a turkey dinner, musical talents by various Aboriginal performers, and gifts for Aboriginal children.
