Maurice Law is pleased and proud to announce that our partner, Brad Regehr, Q.C., has been recognized recently by each of Best Lawyers in Canada and Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
In August of this year, Brad was nominated by his peers in the legal profession for inclusion in the 17th Edition of Best Lawyers in Canada for 2023. Best Lawyers recognition is based exclusively upon a rigorous and confidential peer review by top lawyers in Canada, and Brad was recognized for his practice in the areas of Aboriginal Law/Indigenous Practice.
In September of this year, Brad was named by Canadian Lawyer Magazine as one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in the Non- Profit/Associations category. This recognition comes on the heels of Brad’s notable term as president of the Canadian Bar Association. As the first Indigenous Lawyer to hold that office, Brad made the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action his personal priority. The CBA’s continuing professional development program, The Path (which focuses upon Indigenous and Crown history) has become the most successful program in the CBA’s history.
Brad was appointed Queens Counsel by the Province of Manitoba this past January.
Today, Brad continues to direct his talents and energy towards serving the firm’s clients, First Nations and the community generally."
