ARON TAYLOR

Aron was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 2014 and began his legal career at a Calgary-based boutique firm specializing in energy and commercial litigation. Before joining Maurice Law, he served as In-House Counsel for a geophysical service company, where he managed complex litigation against the Crown to protect intellectual property and commercial interests related to seismic data collected off the coast of Canada.

Since joining Maurice Law as an Associate in 2017, Aron has provided legal services and advice to First Nations communities and organizations on a broad range of matters, including corporate and commercial issues, civil litigation, and Specific Claims. He has appeared as lead and co-counsel in trials and interlocutory hearings before all levels of court in Alberta, and has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including judicial dispute resolutions, mediations, and arbitrations. Aron has extensive litigation experience, and has also appeared before the Specific Claims Tribunal, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Aron also advises Maurice Law clients on issues related to natural resource development and its impact on First Nations, ensuring the Crown fulfills its duty to consult and negotiating Impact Benefit Agreements.

Outside of his legal practice, Aron is passionate about coaching youth soccer and playing in the Calgary United Soccer Association.
