PERRY ROBINSON
Senior Counsel
Perry’s almost 40-year career has provided him with a wealth of experience. After working in private practice, Perry commenced work for Canada’s Department of Justice, and for what is now Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs of Canada. Between 1997 and 2017, Perry worked almost exclusively within the context of the Specific Claims Policy, and has extensive experience in reviewing and negotiating Specific Claims. Perry also appeared on behalf of Canada before the Indian Specific Claims Commission, the precursor to Canada’s Specific Claims Tribunal.
Following the establishment of the Specific Claims Tribunal, Perry took on a coordination role for Tribunal litigation. Between 2014 and 2017, he served as Senior Counsel for the Aboriginal Law Center, a federal center of expertise in Aboriginal Law, where he worked in Treaty and fiduciary law and briefly served on the Department of Justice’s National Litigation Committee.
Perry joined Maurice Law in 2020, where he has since applied his vast experience in Specific Claims to advancing the interests of First Nations.
