Carly is a Kainai/Blood Tribe member. She joined Maurice Law as a summer student in 2006 and returned to article with the firm in 2007. She was called to the bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 2008 and practiced as an associate with the firm. Carly has been a partner at Maurice Law since 2011. Throughout her career, Carly has focused on advancing the interests of her First Nations clients on a broad range of legal issues. Currently, she devotes nearly all her time to assisting her clients with advancing their specific claims through Canada’s specific claims process and the Specific Claims Tribunal. Carly represents clients across the country with research, negotiation and litigation of specific claims including unlawful surrenders, treaty benefits, outstanding treaty land entitlements, and expropriations of reserve land.
